ABOUT US
The Painted Turtle Studio is a catalyst for community and creativity in the town of Mancos, and for the southwest Colorado region. We're committed to providing art opportunities for people of all ages and all levels of experience. From back yard artists to professional artists.
For the past 10 years PTS has offered Art with exceptional teachers, summer camps, guest-artist workshops, art clubs and monthly art exhibits. PTS also has a full clay studio with pottery wheels, kilns, slabroller, tools and glazes. Available for co-op members. We also offer one on one tutoring for anyone wanting to learn more in the clay arena.
We offer an evolving collection of ongoing classes and workshops, a paint-your-own-ceramics studio, Clay Co-Op memberships, an art supply store, an ethnic arts and boutique and gallery exhibitions of work by local artists and studio members. We also regularly host birthday celebrations, team-building activities, and other special events.
The Painted Turtle Studio & Gallery is sponsored by Mancos Valley Resources, a 501(c)(3) fiscal umbrella for organizations working to preserve and enhance quality of life in the Mancos Valley. We are an entirely volunteer-run, nonprofit project and would not exist without the passion and commitment of our members, donors, and volunteers. Many thanks to all who have contributed to growing the Painted Turtle Studio along the way!
